And, arguably Tsuchiya’s biggest achievement is one of these compilations, namely the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection.īefore his departure, Tsuchiya was working on the next mainline Mega Man entry in the franchise. He helped develop every single collection like Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 in addition to titles like Mega Man X DiVE. Overall, the producer mostly worked on legacy collections during his time as the leader of the series. And, Kazuhiro Tsuchiya’s first and last shot at a mainline game in the franchise turned out to be a major success, selling over 1.6 million copies worldwide. The producer got the series out of its dry spell by developing 2018’s Mega Man 11, eight years after the last mainline entry. He became the head of the franchise at a very difficult time after Keiji Infaune left in 2010.īut, Tsuchiya managed to redress the balance and under his leadership, the series saw substantial success. Since then, Tsuchiya worked on many games including Street Fighter before becoming the head of Mega Man in 2010. Mega Man 7, which came out in 1995 was the first title the producer got credited on. Kazuhiro Tsuchiya has been a long-term producer at Capcom with his career at the studio stretching back to the early 90s. Furthermore, the two IPs are now listed as past projects in his bio while previously, it said that he was in charge of both, thereby signaling his exit from Capcom. ![]() ![]() As one fan on Rocketman Corner pointed out, the producer has updated his Twitter profile to say that he has “ graduated” from the company. Kazuhiro Tsuchiya, the head of the Mega Man series and the producer of Street Fighter 6, has apparently left Capcom after 30 years.
